Easter Weekend in Orlando is always full of adventure and this year is certainly no different.SeaWorld Orlando kicks off the weekend with the debut of its all new killer-whale show, One Ocean, at the park’s Shamu Stadium. With a new stage design, new fountains and a new message, the show is a combination of old favorites and some entirely new killer whale maneuvers.
The 22-minute show features the playful whales’ interaction with one another and their trainers. The new fountains, 35 in all, now line the base of the seating area, creating an even wetter “splash zone” as they shoot water high into the air.
While SeaWorld brings the start of a new show, Universal Studios Florida brings its annual Mardi Gras celebration to an end this weekend. The last of the 2011 Mardi Gras concerts on Saturday night will feature musical guest, Thirty Seconds to Mars. Of course, the Mardi Gras party also includes the incredible parade with dazzling floats, colorful costumes and handfuls of beads. And there is always plenty of outrageous street entertainment and tasty Cajun food.
Special events are also on tap at Disney World where Epcot continues to host its annual Flower and Garden Festival. The festival’s Flower Power Concert Series presents Rickey Nelson Remembered featuring The Nelsons.
Concerts are held three times each night (Friday through Sunday) in the America Gardens Theatre inside Epcot’s World Showcase.
The shows at all three Orlando theme parks are included as part of the regular theme park admission price.
