With the New Year looming, it’s out with the old and in with the new at the Orlando Science Center.That means three exhibits at the museum will be on the way out on Jan. 2 to make room for some new exhibits including one featuring Curious George, the playful monkey.

The exhibits closing include “Get the Message,” which focuses on communication tools; “Charlie and Kiwi’s Evolutionary Adventure,” which examines the connections between dinosaurs and birds; and “World of Mechanical Music: Science, History, Craftsmanship and Art,” which studies the physics of sound using vintage music boxes. Mechanical Music will be open until Jan. 9.

Soon to be arriving is “Curious George: Let’s Get Curious,” a special children’s  learning exhibit that combines math, science and engineering skills while also emphasizing the role of adults in a child’s learning process. The exhibit, based on the popular monkey from storybooks and in the PBS television series, is set to open Feb. 12 and will be at the Orlando Science Center until May 29.

Another new addition will be the Cinedome movie adventure, “Jane Goodall’s Wild Chimpanzees.” The film examines the famous field researcher’s work with chimps in Africa.
