SeaWorld Leads Rescue Efforts of Wayward Dolphin
Over Valentine’s Day weekend, one dolphin’s lonely trek ended thanks to SeaWorld’s Animal Rescue Team. On Friday, February 13, the group led a large rescue and relocation operation for the wayward female dolphin that managed to swim approximately 100 miles from home and into Lake Monroe in Sanford, FL. Immediately after the rescue, SeaWorld’s 15-person rescue team relocated her along the Intracoastal Waterway in Titusvillle, FL. State officials and wildlife biologists believe she weaved her way from Jacksonville through an obstacle course of waterways along the St. Johns River.
